International
Section
The
International Section, in which the language of instruction is English,
is divided into Primary School (4 to 10 years of age) and a Secondary
School (11 to 18 years of age).
Pupils prepare for Cambridge I.G.C.S.E. examinations in a full range of subjects.
Extra lessons are also available in English as a Foreign Language. Advanced
level and vocational courses are available in the Sixth Form.
The school is the main GCSE and “A” level centre for British examination
boards in Southern Portugal.
Pupils are drawn from about 30 different nationalities.
The teaching staff are fully qualified and experienced. A senior member of
staff specialises in careers guidance and the School's Work Experience Week
is highly successful.
The overall staff ratio is 1:10. Many classes are split into smaller groups
for teaching, because small class sizes allow pupils to receive more individual
attention. Weekly boarding is possible by arrangement with local parents of
pupils enrolled in the School.
